Trip Plan
This tour is designed for all those passionate about birds and photography. During the tour, we will travel the eastern and western foothills of the Ecuadorian Andes, as well as lowlands of the Northwest Chocó, we will visit the best sites for bird watching and photography, as like special feeders and photography hides, which will allow us have very pleasant experiences with these feathered beings.
The adventure begins on the eastern slopes of the Andes with some of the most characteristic hummingbird species of this area. Besides other species like trogons and toucans and some tanagers. We will stay in this area for 2 nights visiting sites with different altitudinal ranges.
The second stage of this trip will be in the biodiverse western Tropical Andes, here we can observe another great variety of hummingbirds, tanagers and many other birds characteristics of western cloud forests. We will stay there for 1 night.
Finally, the last 3 days we will dedicate it to lowlands in the Ecuadorian Chocó. This is probably the best part of the trip due to the high diversity of birds and several specialized places for photography.
This tour begins and ends in the city of Quito (arrival and last night).

Tour Specifics
It is a trip for photographers and birding lovers, with moderate walks.
The tour will be in rainy season, with bilingual guides: English/Spanish.
There is internet access and laundry service in most of the lodges and the electricity works at 110 volts.
Other information
It is advisable to purchase a travel insurance and consult to your doctor for vaccinations (yellow fever, tetanus, and hepatitis).
All amounts are in US dollars and per person.

Suggested equipment
A digital SLR camera with a long telephoto lens preferably 400mm or more.
A sturdy tripod preferably with a gimbal tripod head.
It is recommended to bring camera backpack with rain cover.
Enough batteries and memory cards.

Lightweight breathable long pants and long sleeve shirts.
Camouflage jacket.
Rain poncho.
Waterproof hiking shoes.
