Trip Plan
This trip is designed to visit the most biodiverse areas of Ecuador; the Tropical Andes, the Chocó and the Amazon. In addition, it will have a focus on Photography in situ, applying and promoting the respect for nature and photographic ethics.
This Adventure will begin in the vast jungles of the central Ecuadorian Amazon. There, we will stay for 3 nights, observing and photographing a great variety of fauna.
In the second part of the trip we will immerse ourselves in the fantastic Ecuadorian Chocó, a unique place, biodiverse and sadly very threatened. In this paradisiacal area we will stay for 3 nights, having the opportunity to observe its marvelous diversity of amphibians, reptiles, insects, and other invertebrates.
We will have the last stage of this great adventure in the cloud forests of Mindo, in the western foothills of the Andes, an area of high biodiversity and endemism. We will stay there for 2 nights before returning to Quito and finishing this tour.
This tour begins and ends in the city of Quito.

Tour Specifics
It is a trip for photographers and herping lovers, with moderate walks.
The tour will be in rainy season, with bilingual guides: English/Spanish.
There is internet access and laundry service in most of the lodges and the electricity works at 110 volts.
Other information
It is advisable to purchase a travel insurance and consult to your doctor for vaccinations (yellow fever, tetanus, and hepatitis).
All amounts are in US dollars and per person.

Suggested equipment
A digital SLR camera with a macro lens preferably with an aperture f/2.8.
A sturdy tripod + ball head tripod.
External flash (triggers), and a good diffuser or a light plastic softbox.
Waterproof headlamp.
Enough batteries and memory cards.
Suggested clothes
It is recommended to bring
camera backpack with rain cover.
Lightweight breathable long pants and long sleeve shirts.
Rain poncho and rubber boots.
Waterproof hiking shoes.
Sunblock and insect repellent.
Conscious Travel
This is a specialized trip for lovers of macro photography. We will explore the forests in the biodiverse regions of the Ecuadorian Amazon, Tropical Andes, and Chocó, in search of the most colorful and beautiful amphibians, reptiles, insects, and other endemic "bugs" of these areas, while we develop our In-Situ photography techniques. Without a doubt the adrenaline and other great emotions will be part of this tour.
