The adventure begins early in the morning, we will go to the area of the Choco to the northwest of Quito passing through the Middle of the World. After that we will leave to the lodge, where tanagers, hummingbirds and the Andean Toucan await us, we will stay in this amazing place for 3 days.
On the fourth day we will travel at dawn to Lago Agrio in the Amazon, there we will embark along with a local guide to the heart of the northern jungle. The Cuyabeno Fauna Production Reserve is an incredible site for landscapes due to its flooded and navigable forests. In this incredible natural area we will have the opportunity to observe the Pygmy Marmoset, the Golden-mantled Tamarin, the Red-mantled Tamarin, Capuchinos and Napo Sakis, as well as birds and other animals such as amphibians and reptiles. We will stay in this reserve a total of 4 days.
On our eighth day we will go to the Cotopaxi National Park located in the Andes region, in search of some andean and aquatic birds and with some luck we can see a paramo fox. In the afternoon we will go to Baños, where we will rest until the next day. After this journey we will depart to the southern area of Chocó, we will focus on visiting the forest of the lodge, in addition to using its photographic Hide for small birds. We will also walk the trails at night to look for herps and other bugs. This site has species of amphibians and reptiles quite emblematic for its conservation status and limited distribution.
During the 12th day we will visit the Quilotoa lake, where we can enjoy one of the most beautiful and emblematic landscapes of Ecuador, after that we will return to Quito. Finally during our last days of this trip we will visit the Antisana Ecological Reserve and the Antisanilla Reserve, where if we have good weather we can observe the Antisana Volcano and some iconic species of the andean páramos.
On our last day we will take a tour of the historic center of Quito, in addition to doing some shopping in the craft market and finally we will go to the airport where this trip will end.
Ecuador, such a small country, is home of a rich, beautiful, unique, endemic and even threatened biodiversity. Therefore, through a Responsible Nature Tourism we have the opportunity to show and share it to the world, while we support its conservation through Environmental Education and Local Economic Development programs.
